Ray Barnett

Veterinarian and Hospital Director (BVSc (Honours))

Ray grew up in Grafton, and graduated from the University of Sydney in 2000. After working in mixed practice in several regional towns in Australia (including Cobram VIC, Mount Isa QLD, Inverell NSW) and a year working in the United Kingdom, Ray returned to Grafton in 2007, and helped establish Clarence Valley Vet Clinic in 2010. Ray enjoys small animal surgery, but also likes to get out and about each week to tend to cattle and horses. 


Benjamin Schofield

Veterinarian (BVSc (Honours) PhD)

Ben started working at Clarence Valley Vet Clinic in December 2023, soon after graduating from Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland. Ben has undertaken previous university studies including completing a PhD. 

Ben grew up in Grafton, and after several years living and working in other localities (including overseas) he has decided to commence his veterinary career back in the Clarence Valley. He is a valued member of our team and is enjoying the veterinary variety of our district, keenly interested in both small animal and large animal work. 


Sam Biddle

Veterinarian (BVMS)

Sam joined Clarence Valley Vet Clinic in 2024, but has worked at other vet clinics in the district for several years. He has a wealth of small animal veterinary experience, and is especially interested in small animal surgery. Sam graduated from Murdoch University in Perth in 2006. 

Outside of work Sam likes to spend time with his family, and is a keen fisherman. 


Kelly Whitmore

Senior Vet Nurse (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing)

Kelly moved to the Clarence Valley from the Central Coast, and joined Clarence Valley Vet Clinic in 2022. She has worked as a vet nurse for over 20 years, and also taught vet nursing at TAFE for 12 years. Kelly takes great pride in providing excellent patient care and customer service. When not at work Kelly enjoys spending time with her horses, dogs, and family.  


Linden Martin

Receptionist

Linden commenced working at Clarence Valley Vet Clinic in 2022 after working in vet clinics in Townsville for several years. She is kept busy providing excellent customer service and advice at the front counter and on the phone. 

Linden has a keen interest in animal behaviour and runs Puppy Pre-school classes. 


Jess Walters

Veterinary Nurse

Jess grew up in Grafton, and commenced a Veterinary Nursing traineeship at Clarence Valley Vet Clinic in 2022. She has rapidly become a valuable team member, and is involved in both nursing and reception duties at the clinic. 

Outside work, Jess enjoys playing netball. 


Dylan Brown

Veterinary Nurse

Dylan joined Clarence Valley Vet Clinic in 2024, but has worked in the local veterinary industry for many years at other clinics. 

Dylan's caring attitude to patients and clients is greatly appreciated. Outside of work, he has a keen interest in Brahman cattle


Ella Harkin

Veterinary Nurse

Ella started working at Clarence Valley Vet Clinic in 2024, and is keen to gain as much experience as possible in the veterinary industry. She grew up in Sydney, studied and worked in Canberra, but has strong connections with rural and regional NSW. 

Ella loves working with animals, and is rapidly developing her veterinary nursing skills. Her caring approach to patients and clients is greatly appreciated. 

Outside the clinic, Ella is busy with farm work, and enjoys exploring the natural beauty of the Clarence Valley. 


Briony Doust

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Briony starting working at Clarence Valley Vet Clinic in 2024, and is currently studying Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing at TAFE. 

Briony provides excellent patient care and client service, and we welcome her to the team.
